PORTFOLIO

Born in Frankfurt am Main and of French-Algerian heritage, Karim Chérif studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). Early on, his career led him to the major stages of the German-speaking theatre world — from the Maxim Gorki Theatre and Schauspielhaus Bochum to Vienna’s Burgtheater, where he was a permanent ensemble member for several years.

A wider audience knows Karim primarily as investigator Youssef El Kilali in the ARD crime series DIE FÜCHSIN. His leading role in the Grimme-nominated mini-series VERBRECHEN first brought him broader public recognition. On German television, he has impressed in numerous leading roles, including the ZDF summer series EIN SOMMER IN DER BRETAGNE and other high-profile productions.

Karim has also made a strong international impression: in the Amazon Prime series TOM CLANCY’S JACK RYAN and the Luc Besson–produced feature film RENEGADES, he demonstrated his distinctive screen presence on an international stage.

In cinema, Karim has appeared in highlights such as HOME SICK, LUCKY LOSER and TOP GIRLS, among others.
