PORTFOLIO

Julia Jendroßek grew up in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district and completed her Abitur there in 2010. She made a widely acclaimed feature film debut as the lead in Schönefeld Boulevard (2013), which premiered at the Munich International Film Festival. Her nuanced portrayal of Cindy — a young woman navigating social stagnation and personal longing on the margins of Berlin’s BER airport construction site — immediately positioned her as one of the most distinctive new female voices in contemporary German cinema.

She became a familiar face to a broad audience as a series regular in the highly successful VOX drama Club der roten Bänder (2015–2016), one of the defining German youth series of the decade, and quickly established herself as a reliable serial performer. Early on, she also appeared in socially and politically resonant productions such as Mitten in Deutschland: NSU – Die Täter and Die Neue (dir. Buket Alakus), underlining her affinity for character-driven, socially relevant storytelling.

Julia returned to the big screen with Freibad (2022), reaffirming her strong presence in contemporary German cinema. Since 2023, she has been a central face of ARD’s successful primetime series Familie Anders, appearing across multiple films (Willkommen im Nest, Zwei sind einer zu viel, Die rosarote Brille, Mann Nummer 1) and shaping the emotional core of the format.

Parallel to her cinema and public broadcasting work, she expanded her streaming profile with the Amazon Original series Last Exit Schinkenstraße (2023) and continued her work within Germany’s most prominent franchises including Tatort(Schweigen, 2024; Borowski und das hungrige Herz, 2025) and SOKO Leipzig. Additional credits include VONGOZERO – Flucht zum See (Season 2), DISKO 76, and a lead role in SUNNY – Wer bist du wirklich (NATHALIE), and much more.

Julia Jendroßek embodies a grounded, emotionally precise screen presence that bridges arthouse sensibility with wide cultural resonance — positioning her as a versatile leading actress for contemporary cinema, high-profile series, and international storytelling.
