PORTFOLIO

Selam Tadese was born in Kuwait in 1980. He came to Germany with his mother and brother in 1985, where he grew up in Ulm. He first appeared in the cinema adaptation of Charlotte Roche’s bestseller Wetlands. Other films such as DER WEISSE ÄTHIOPIER alongside Jürgen Vogel and BETONRAUSCH alongside Frederick Lau and David Kross followed. Selam is no stranger to international fame either – he has already made his way to the USA in a leading role for the HBO pilot MOGADISHU and  MINNESOTA. The actor with Ethiopian-Eritrean roots is not only convincing in films, but also on stage – he received the Audience Award at the Clingenburg Festival for the role of Iago in Shakespeare’s Othello. Selam Tadese has also appeared in numerous film and television productions, including FEUCHTGEBIETE by David Wnendt. He has also directed films by Tim Trageser, Adolfo Kolmerer, Detlev Buck, Cüneyt Kaya, Maria von Heland, Hanna Maria Heidrich and Alex Eslam.

He has appeared in a leading role in international series productions such as SOULS and HELGOLAND 513 directed by Robert Schwentke, and in I DONT WORK HERE he also excelled in a sitcom.
