Mudar Ramadan, born in Aleppo in 1986, studied at the renowned Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus. He has lived in Berlin since 2019. He has directed numerous plays in Syria, Tunisia and Germany and has appeared in many films and series. In Berlin, he is co-founder of the group Transculture Arts. His latest play Neuland deals with the topic of escape.
Most recently, he played the leading roles in the films ON THE OTHER SIDE – nominated at the Filmfest Dresden – WOULD YOU PLAY IT AGAIN and CARAVAN. Other major roles followed, including Muammar in UNWANTED directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and LES FANTOMES directed by Jonathan Millet, which opened the „Semaine de la Critique“ in Cannes in 2024. In 2024, Mudar Ramadan was in front of the camera in DAS LICHT directed by Tom Tykwer.
