Born in Braunschweig in 1977, studied at the UdK Berlin and graduated in 2004. Mieke lives in Berlin.
In recent years, Mieke has had the wonderful opportunity to show many facets of her acting skills – from a cab driver with a Berlin snout in the Netflix movie RUMSPRINGA to a grieving mother from the lower class of the 1920s in BABYLON BERLIN, an ambitious psychologist in the ARD series LAUCHHAMMER, a disillusioned paramedic in TATORT DRESDEN, an overwhelmed mother in POLIZEIRUF ROSTOCK and a kindergarten director in the small-town district in the ZDF series WENDEHAMMER. In the first German Netflix series DARK, Mieke Schymura appeared in all three seasons as policewoman Justyna Jankowski.
