Hêvîn Tekin celebrated a grandiose world premiere in Belgium in 2024 with LA VIERGE À L’ENFANT at the Ostend Film Festival. Hêvîn Tekin plays the lead role of Avesta in the 80-minute film. Avesta (Hêvîn Tekin), a Kurdish Yazidi woman, arrives in Brussels after fleeing from the hands of the Islamic State in Iraq. All she seeks is revenge on the man who kept her there as a slave. Between her desperate search for justice, confronting the suffering she has endured, and the obligation of being the mother of an unwanted child, Avesta tries at all costs to make her voice heard.
In 2024, Soleen Yusef’s feature film SIEGER SEIN , in which Hevin played the role of Aunt Helen, was awarded the Lola at the 2024 German Film Awards.
