Denise made her debut as an actress at the Staatstheater Hannover in 1995. She made her television debut 17 years ago as „Schwester Lela“ in UM HIMMELS WILLEN.  Since then, Denise M’Baye has breathed life into countless characters.

For her role as Dr. Ellen Cooper in the multi-award-winning film THE ORDINARIES (directed by Sophie Linnenbaum), she won the Heimspielpreis for her acting performance. 

In the Grimme Award-nominated ARD mini-series 37 SEKUNDEN, Denise was seen in the recurring role of lawyer Adele Sonko. (Director: Bettina Oberli). 

In 2023, Denise M`Baye was also seen in the ZDF NEO horror series UNNOTICED – Was wir fürchten (director: Daniel Rübesam), which was also nominated for the Grimme Prize, as psychologist Janina Cruz. and in the Netflix production DIE LIEBESKÜMMERER (director: Shirel Peleg) .

In the children’s series MEIN TRAUM, MEINE GESCHICHTE she can be seen as the mother of young Nina Simone. The film WAS WIR FÜRCHTEN, in which Denise also plays a leading role, was also nominated for the Grimme Award.  Denise also hosts a radio program on NDR Kultur. 

She is also represented internationally, shooting the psychological thriller STEAL AWAY home in Belgium, directed by Clement Virgo.
